Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Editor to oversee the editing process for manuscripts across multiple genres. The ideal candidate has a strong command of language, storytelling, and publishing standards, with the ability to refine manuscripts into impactful books while preserving the author’s unique voice.

Key Responsibilities

Review, edit, and proofread manuscripts for grammar, style, structure, and coherence.

Collaborate with authors to improve clarity, flow, and readability while respecting their vision.

Ensure consistency with Sentientë’s editorial guidelines and publishing standards.

Fact-check references, citations, and contextual accuracy.

Prepare manuscripts for layout and production in coordination with designers.

Provide editorial feedback and coaching to emerging authors.

Manage timelines to ensure projects are delivered on schedule.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Journalism, Publishing, or related field.

3+ years of editorial experience (preferably in book publishing).

Strong command of grammar, syntax, and editorial best practices.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Familiarity with digital publishing platforms (Amazon KDP, IngramSpark, etc.) is a plus.

Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines.
